Thanks to awesome sources like Cumberbatchweb, the whole entirety of tumblr knows that today is Benedict Cumberbatch’s appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. As its a public appearance, I’ll be trying for standby tickets and if I get into the taping, will be heading to Kenka in St Marks for dinner after taping. If you’d like to join, keep checking for updates on meet up time! Thanks! Aubre
Would it be alright to sign up as a one person team for now and then add people later? Or do I have to know how many people before I submit the form?
Sure! You can sign up now and add team members later.
I am going to adjust that option in the sign up sheet tomorrow morning.
Additional FAQs regarding the Scavenger Hunt:
(we will post a full list of FAQs when we post the full rules of the game and prizes)
1. Can we participate as a single person/ be placed on a team?
Yes, to both. If you would like us to place you on a team we can set that up.
2. I am only going to the con for a few hours, can I still participate?
Yes. The way the scavenger hunt is set up you can do most of the hunt on your own time. You will be given a set up tasks and trivia and have 30 hours to complete as many of the tasks as you can. (It is set up very similarly to GISHWHES)
This way you can still enjoy the con, going to panels etc.
3. If I am not going to be at the con on Sunday, can I still submit my answers to win?
Yes. There is a deadline time that the scavenger hunt will need to be submitted by (over email or tumblr— directions for this will be forthcoming) If you are not able to be present on Sunday to claim your prize we will email you and ship the prizes to you.
Once this bloody blizzard passes by I will start to pick a day out for the Way Station meet up. HOWEVER in the mean time there is this awesome event in Williamsburg. I know it’s awesome because I have been three times. It’s called Spoons, Toons, and Booze. On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 12p you meet at Nitehawk Cinemas where a cereal bar is waiting for you. You eat cereal (with their famous cereal shot) and drink white russians while watching Saturday morning cartoons. This month’s theme is Valentine’s Specials. It’s super fun, we drink lots and then eat brunch afterwards. If you can’t make it there is always next month, I don’t think I’ll ever miss one. Let me know if you are coming so I can save seats. Btw, it’s $12 and lasts about 2 hours.
I love Nitehawk!
Signal boost because I think most of SherlockNYC will be around on Sunday!
Thanks for finding all the details!
NVM: sold out :(
LOOK AT THIS CUTE-ASS IRENE DOODLE CARA DID FOR ME
it is the cutest
I can not contain my feels
between this picture and encountering the new love of my life (Pies & Thighs) I am fucking set
That Irene pic is “2cute”! Wasn’t Pies n’ Thighs delish! Exactly what we all needed after such a crazy day. Official SherlockNYC guilty pleasure.
Signal boost. We love it when new friends are made at our tea parties :)
You all might think me insane, but I love nothing more than going to an enormous party where I do not know a single other person there. Add Sherlock to that mix, and A Sunday in Belgravia was a stellar day. I love everyone I met there!! Thank you so much to everyone who made this happen at Sherlock NYC and Baker Street Babes and the whole BSI weekend!!
I ALSO WON THIS WATERCOLOR BY CARA MCGEE AND I WAS/AM FREAKING OUT.
Moran and I are awkward hair and bullet twins, so I took an unnecessary picture. I didn’t get a chance to
make her draw Ori eating pizzameet Cara but I want to just say on here wow wow wow I am so in love with this, thank you SO much. Ugh you guys, this art is so beautiful, plus the grab bag, and so much good tea, I want to drown in tea and cheekbones, I will die happy.
It was so nice meeting you yesterday! And, oh my god, the resemblance is uncanny!
Perfect raffle prize is perfect.
To all those who RSVP’d for the Sherlock Cosplay photo shoot you should have received an update email tonight.
We hope you are as excited for the photo shoot as we are!
The photo shoot will be taking place in the Javits Center on Level 1. It will be in the large area in front of the IGN Theatre.
The photo shoot will commence promptly at 5:30pm. So we advise that you begin to congregate in the area around 5pm.
Since New York Comic Con is incredibly crowded this year we have a very slim window of time to use this area to take group photos.
Be advised that some people maybe queuing up for the Firefly screening in the IGN theatre.
Our staff members will be in this location with a sign showing our SherlockNYC logo.
When in doubt look for fellow Sherlock cosplayers. That is usually a good indication you are in the right place.
Tentative photoshoot schedule:
5:30-5:35pm: Group shot
5:35-5:40pm: Sherlocks and Femlocks
5:40-5:45pm: Johns and Joans
5:50-5:55pm: Mycroft, Lestrade, and other secondary characters
5:55-6:00pm: Vatican Cameo or Reichenbach death scenes.
** If you have attended a convention of this magnitude before then you know all plans require flexibility.**
Security at this year’s convention is very strict. We have chosen a location away from some foot traffic but if a rouge security guard does tell us to move along there is little arguing we can do.
We do have secondary locations in mind in case this happens.
We will keep you abreast of any and all changes through email.
***Please, regularly check your email for correspondence from us in case there is a change in location or time.
We will be regularly checking our emails if you have any further questions.***
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Have a happy and safe con-weekend!
Watson Adventures has just tweeted out that there will be a limited number of tickets released at noon today for the scavenger hunt tomorrow, Saturday September 22nd.
For all those that wanted to join but missed the first deadline this is your chance!
Keep an eye on their twitter page, we’ll reblog the link if we see it.
For those who do have tickets- Aubre, Christine, and Amanda from Team SherlockNYC will be there tomorrow. Stop by and say hi!
Nicole has to dogsit and sleep and won’t be in attendance WOMP :(
What a great time! It was wonderful to meet so many Sherlockians, new friends and old friends. Special thanks to the Way Station for taking such good care of us and playing Series 1 of Sherlock.
Extra special thank you to that Stormaggedon and Captain Jack Harness drink– delicious.
Hope to see you all at our next meet up!
