Are the signs that you're referring to the 'We Believe' images? Or are you talking about something else?
Hello! Yes, the “We Believe” images on our website, www.sherlocknyc.com are the signs we are talking about. They are underneath the google map that we have set up for everyone. Hope this answers your question!
Hello! I'm a sherlock 2010's fan in Taiwan, and l saw this and think: how great this plan is!! l will really love to join this plan and wondering may i translate this plan into Chinese so that this fascinating plan can be known by the fans in Taiwan or chinese fan? if it's not OK, which is fine because there may be problem of giving prize (air mail is really expansive), but i just want to let you know that there are MANY people believe in him and can let the map too cloud to see the land.
Hello! We would gladly allow you to translate our We Believe in Sherlock project for fans in Taiwan :) The more people on the map, the better!
We are allowing anyone, from all around the world, to enter our giveaway! So if you think you’re too far, do not let that stop you from putting yourself on our map!
Have you guys ever thought about getting a group together for a Sherlock Convention or something? It could be small and held in a hotel (or anyplace with enough space) and feature Sherlock throughout the ages! (Just an idea!)
We have actually! We are currently scheduling our next BBC Sherlock screening, and have some ideas along that thought.
We’d love to have a Sherlock Convention someday - especially since we were all floored by the devotion and love of Sherlock Holmes outside of just the BBC verse, but this would have to be far off into the future. It is a wonderful idea, but the thing is - it takes months of planning, and thousands of dollars. You need to rent space, get permits, insurance, licensing if you are showing media, guests and staff. Take a moment and think about a con you go to - how soon in advance do they announce? What’s the schedule like? Take a moment and think about how many people and hours it takes.
We dream about this someday - but it would take dozens of people, months and months of time and thousands of dollars. For an example, one of our staff organizes a 1/2 day event at a hotel for her job- like at a Hilton (8 people in a room for the day and a lunch). Well, that’s roughly $1,000 in expenses. Another event for 100 in a few breakout rooms can cost up to $8,000. If this was an event where we got 100 people, it’d be $80 a person - that’s without showings scheduled (which might be plausible if you take out food costs - which can be $2,500 to start!)
See how quickly it stacks up? Another example - our BBC Sherlock Series licenses are roughly $1,400 for each time we have a screening alone!
Now, this doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen - but for us to get a 1 day event in NYC where we could gather, we could take a stab in the dark and say it’d cost $6,000-8,000 for a ‘high estimate’. We’d have to make a downpayment (hotels won’t just ‘reserve’ space), and find folks willing to pay $50-$100 a piece. We just don’t know how many people we can guarantee will buy tickets - and we’d be most likely be lacking another KEY component- SPONSORS - companies that will use your event for advertising and pay good money that you can use to run your event - think a Comic-con - Marvel throws money at San Diego Comic Con so they can have ads run on merchandies and panels to get people to see their movies, read their books, etc. Dealers have to pay for a table, etc.
Our staff also has other obligations - school, families, work, etc. We are proudly non-profit and plan on staying that way. We all volunteer our time and effort to do the small scale and larger scale one day meet-ups, but they do take time. A convention would require us to at least double our staff or get volunteers that would work with us, and we’d need to announce MONTHS in advance - given that we had the funds to make a downpayment.
Again, we love your idea, and we’re working on making our Series II screening EPIC as much as we can. We’d love to have a Sherlock Holmes convention someday, and we’re working on having more meet-ups and events that do bring different verses (were you at our ‘Study in Sherlock?’) together.
GOOD NEWS THOUGH - There ARE events that we attend, but don’t run that are along the lines you are thinking about.
when will you post the pictures from the photoshoot?
We are currently working on our posting of pictures, so keep looking. We HAVE uploaded our ‘We Believe’ photos on our map HERE - and you can win an AWESOME Sherlock Prize pack if you do the same - so check it out!

A lot of people were asking us on our Twitter if we were planning to do a “Sherlock” convention in France, so now I can answer you that we are planning to organise that convention in Paris next year…
In fact the BBC Sherlock France’s team wants to organise a great convention not only about the BBC’s series but about the whole work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, with the colaboration of the Sherlock Holmes Society of France’s team (which will celebrate its 20 years at the convention). So yes, every Sherlock Holmes’ lovers are welcome!
For now, it’s still a project as we are actually researching the perfect place in Paris where to do it, but be sure we are going to do our best to propose you debates, conferences, spectacles, projections, and so on… Of course, all the details about this convention will be post as soon as our project will become reality!
Feel free to spread the word about this project as many times as you want!
#Sherlock Conventions are awesome. Being invited to Paris? Doubly awesome. Stay tuned for this French & nearby Sherlockians!
Our first location is the TKTS red stairs at 3 pm/ then the Baker Street Pub @ 5 pm - we will then be at Johnny Rockets at 5:30 pm. At 7 pm, we’ll adjourn to either the Baker Street Pub if you are over 21 or wherever you’d liken to on your own if you aren’t. Thanks! Aubre The Mod Team SherlockNYC

Please make sure if you RSVP’d for either our Study in Sherlock or We Believe Photshoot - PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAILS AND RSVP ASAP.
We need to have a final number for our meetup(s) asap to make sure things go effectively!
AND BE SURE TO BE READING YOUR CANON!
We’ll have 3 categories for our game:
* Study in Scarlet
* Study in Pink
* Canon vs BBC
We’re also going to have different difficulty for different points and have folks in teams, along with a ‘lifeline’ representative at each table for groups to have a chance to consult with before answering a question.
We’re still working out the rules - so we’ll be posting those up later this week.
But for now-
1. Read ‘A Study in Scarlet’ - taking notes will help!
2. Consider re-watching ‘A Study in Pink’ - taking notes will help!
We need 100,000 signatures from UK citizens on the HM Government petition for it to be eligible for debate in the House of Commons. So please everyone do your best!

In this year of special Olympic and Royal patriotism, I believe that Arthur Conan Doyle’s house, Undershaw, should be purchased from it’s private owners, for a fair price, by the nation for the nation, and that funds be made available to Hindhead Council to develop Undershaw into a national Conan Doyle Museum.
Doyle built Undershaw, in Hindhead, Surrey, to share with his family and invalid wife Louise.
Today it is empty, in poor repair and in danger from property development. Undershaw is of unique architectural and cultural interest to this nation: There, Doyle wrote many of his best-known Sherlock Holmes stories, and many other works. From Undershaw he conducted many of his campaigns for just trial and the rights of the marginalised. Doyle was a staunch patriot.
This is only for people in the United Kingdom, but please pass it along, reblog it, tell everyone you know. For more information please go to www.saveundershaw.com
I RSVPed a while ago so I forget... were we given a number or something? Will you have a list of usernames at the event? How do we prove we RSVPed to the Study in Sherlock event?
We just sent out an mass email to those who RSVPed for the Study in Sherlock event. If you have received an email then that’s a confirmation we have received your RSVP. Hope that helps! Also, at the event, we will have a list and a staff member will be checking off those who RSVPed.
For the Study in Sherlock event, we will not be able to let anyone in who did not RSVP due to the restaurant’s regulations. However, we happily welcome more people to our We Believe in Sherlock photoshoots :) The RSVP for the photoshoots are to help us estimate how many to expect.
We are super happy to announce that we have received tons of RSVPs for our Study in Sherlock event. We never thought so many Sherlockians would be interested and it truly astounds us when we saw the turn-out. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of RSVPs, we now have to close off the registration for this event.
However, our We Believe in Sherlock Photoshoot sessions (at Times Square/Baker Street Bar) are still open! The more the merrier, we say! To RSVP for our photoshoots, please follow this link: We Believe in Sherlock
As a sort of answer to the last anon, if you'd post this: I'm also on the younger side of the age spectrum, but I'm going. Alone, to boot. So I can be your sticking-out-like-a-sore-thumb buddy, if you want. :)
Yes! We did see your posts when checking the tag!
We’re happy you can make it!
Don’t be nervous about ‘being alone’ or ‘being too young’
Our meetups are aimed at celebrating our love of the adventures, whether it’s discussing the cases or the many screen adaptations! We want to meet as many of you as possible!
We are here to learn as a group!
So don’t ever feel ‘awkward’ or ‘too young’.
We started out as
1. a person who randomly met up with people at a screening of Third Star in NYC (and literally had never HEARD of tumblr before someone she randomly asked to hang out with because of her awesome GREEN SNEAKERS said ‘you should check out tumblr) AND SHE WAS TERRIFIED AT HER FIRST MEET UP
2. someone who was AWESOME and was like ‘how could would it be to have a screening in NYC’
So….one mod heard a rumor about the other mod’s post…. asked!her and THE REST IS HISTORY.
So - moral of the story - fandom is amazing.
So - don’t ever feel awkward or too young to show up!
ESPECIALLY if you want to learn more about Canon!
The only thing we want to make sure of - if you are younger - let your parents know you want to come and talk to them about it! Travel safe, and if possible, with a friend.
How old do you have to be to go to the meet up? I'm pretty young and I'm worried of sticking out like a sore thumb...
There’s no age limit on our event and as long as you love Sherlock as much as I’m sure we all do, there’s no need to worry about sticking out! We’ll welcome you with open arms :) However, if you still feel uncomfortable, perhaps you may want to bring a friend. Whatever makes you more comfortable!
"Lucy Liu has been cast as Sherlock Holmes right-hand (wo)man in CBS’ Elementary pilot.
The drama is a modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes in which Sherlock (Eli Stone's Jonny Lee Miller) is a recovering addict and consultant for the NYPD. Liu will play Joan Watson, a former surgeon-turned-sober companion who looks after Holmes.
Are you going to host any events in the near future?
Yes, we sure are! The staff has currently been occupied in getting through the work from resulting from our BBC Sherlock Series I screening, adding new Staff, networking with fellow Sherlockians, making updates to our sites, working on our direction and goals, and of course planning events for 2012!
We have an announcement coming very shortly - so keep watching!
